Frequently Asked Questions

Why do query strings contain plus signs instead of %20?

HTML forms submitting with application/x-www-form-urlencoded encode spaces as "+". Standard RFC 3986 uses %20. Our decoder handles both seamlessly.

Can this decode nested or double-encoded URLs?

Yes. If a URL was accidentally encoded twice (e.g. containing %2520), running the decoder twice will restore the original text.

Is this safe to use with URLs containing access tokens?

Decoding runs on our server over HTTPS. Input is processed in memory and is not stored. Avoid pasting live auth tokens.
